Dying for the Mission, or Glory? World War II is the last time an enemy threatened to invade American territory. Since 1945, Americans have fought and died in Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other places, in support of politically-directed, propaganda-driven, “national interest” conflicts.
